214 LBS lost in 1st week... Round 1 Winners Announced!
We have TWO WINNERS this week out of the first rouund and I'm giving away two SPECIAL UN-ANNOUNCED BONUSES to the top male and female competitors of this fat loss challenge:
Asa Ulrey and Denise Noel are the winners this week.
The above two competitors have lost the most weight in the men and women's categories respectively in the first week of this competition.
Each will receive a $25 GIFT CARD that they can cash-in to eat healthy meals at the new Chipotle Mexican Grill that is soon to open in the former Bob Evans location in the Mount Vernon Shopping Plaza.
Chipotle is my #1 restaurant of choice for eating out when staying on a diet!
If you're unfamiliar with Chipotle, you can check out their website here:

NOW, Here are the results of the first weeks weigh-ins!
The Front-Runner:
Asa Ulrey: The front-runner. Asa was planning to try a special diet soon and he mentioned to me that this challenge was all it took to start NOW instead of waiting for the first of the year.
These two have tied for Second Place this week: Ken Black: - Ken (a local business owner: Black's Automotive) told me he had all the motivation he needed when he saw his "before" photo that I took. Nice going, Ken...I want to see you make it to the finish line!
Tom Crabtree: - Tom was ready and the iPad2 pushed him into action!
In Third Place:
Jeremiah Hoar: - You and your training partner (Austin Goins) weighed in one pound apart. You are leading him by one and a quarter pounds.
In Fourth and the leading female this week in the challenge:
Denise Noel: - Bob told me that he had a cheat meal (City Barbecue...more like a feast for ten from what he told me) the night before so that you could place ahead of him. Now that's love! You guys are neck and neck, you've got him by three quarters of a pound so far.
Trailing behind in a close Fifth Place:
Micah McQuigg: - Many people would ask, "Where did you find the fat to lose?" You and your wife Lina have been sticking to your workouts since I reacquired the club in May of 2009. I want to thank you both for your demonstrated consistency at the club... spring, summer, winter, and fall.
Sixth Place:
Austin Goins: - Better pick up the pace... see above comments that I posted under your training partner (Jermiah Hoar).
Seventh Place:
Bob Noel: - Bob, nice gesture on behalf of your wife, but you do have your work cut out for you regarding the rest of the competition! Those ahead of you and behind you.
Eighth Place:
Todd Fitzpatrick: - Todd told me he's just doing this for himself and that he wouldn't be around for the final weigh-in. He said the iPad2 is not his objective. He sure gave me heck though when he came in for his second weigh-in because it's my fault he can't eat whatever he wants right now. I had to laugh. I'm not so sure Todd won't pop-in for the final weigh-in.
Ninth Place:
Brian Snow: - All I have to say to you at this moment, is that you know where your strength comes from.
Tenth Place:
Jim Perrine: - Jim and his wife Lisa joined Pro Fitness USA a week before this challenge was announced. If Jim sticks with it (training at the gym) and makes the necessary changes in diet needed (IE. drop unnecessary salt, all sugar, lower carb and fat intake, and drink only water keeping protein intake higher) then Jim has a valid chance to take this challenge.
Eleventh Place: Simon Boucher: - Simon, your job is to keep Sarah (Burns) dialed in and teach her what you know about fitness and nutrition. She has great potential.
Twelfth Place:
Mike Hyde: - Mike has been dieting since March and before entering this challenge had already dropped 103 pounds... Mike, I hope this challenge is just what you needed to keep you going during this time of year... with the holiday cooking, and all.
Thirteenth Place:
Lina McQuigg: - Lina is an example of someone who adopted the fitness lifestyle at an early age. Don Thomas (one of our competitors in this challenge) once told me that Lina demonstrated an athletic ability even at an early age. Don was her P.E. teacher back in the day here in MTV. If you want a demonstration of discipline, then check out this video of Lina running 6.4 miles per hour on the treadmill at Pro Fitness USA while 5 months PREGNANT!
Fourteenth Place:
Lisa Siegfried: - Lisa renews her membership at Pro Fitness USA like clockwork. She's been pumping iron at PFUSA since the summer of 2005. Lisa is no stranger to the freeweights. Hey Lisa, if I had a "Strongest Woman" contest (hey, that's an idea) I know who I'd bet my money on!.
Fifteenth Place:
Don Thomas: - You might remember when we first asked the question: "should we do this challenge?" Don's response was, "Lee likes my love handles!" Well Don, how does Lee like your love handles now?
Sixteenth Place:
Al McQuigg: - Weighed in early on Tuesday as Al needed to travel out of town. Al may have placed higher if he had the extra day that everyone else had before weigh-ins. Keep an eye on him.
Seventeenth Place:
Bob Reveal: - What about Bob? Wait and see!
Eighteenth Place:
Heather McNamara: - Heather, I may have lost your email in the hundreds that I haven't yet opened in my inbox (my apologies), but you don't need my help or anyone else's to do this... you know exactly what you need to do. All you have to do is apply what you already know.
Nineteenth Place:
Tondi Stickle: - Tondi's motivation for this challenge is that she is getting married this Saturday! Tondi shared with me that this challenge was perfect timing. Tondi, I think that I can speak collectively for the group... have a wonderful honeymoon, throw the diet out the window and order chocolate covered strawberries with breakfast, lunch and dinner! CONGRATULATIONS to you and your soon husband!
Twentieth Place:
Bob McNamara: - I'm still amazed that you ran a half marathon at your bodyweight a few months ago. You are a big guy no matter how you slice it. For anyone to have the drive to accomplish that in a given lifetime is a feat in itself. By the way, could I borrow a few thousand?
The following competitors are listed in order of placing:
Tabitha Baughman: - Tabitha, you have lost more than the typical recommend amount in just one week! keep it up!
Laura Wright: - Laura insisted on wearing her shoes, jeans, etc. for this weigh-in and still showed a 2.75 pound loss....I confirmed... she's psyching out the competition. That's the only other clue you are going to get regarding pounds lost this week.
Jon Graham: - I think it's funny that both you and your wife (Kelsey Graham) were having lunch when you both submitted your entry within seconds of each other.
Jason Morey: - Jason, you are slacking! I expected more from you! Pick up the pace, buddy!
The next three competitors are TIED:
Wendy Eyster: - The three of you are tied and each of you have lost the standard recommended amount of weight this week that most dieting proponents speak of.
Loretta Kent: - Hi Lorreta... Nice Job! say "hi" to Bill for me and please see my above comments regarding you, Wendy and Lisa.
Lisa Perrine: - Lisa, you are a new member a fresh out of the starting gate! keep it up!
Continuing on with placings in order...
Mike Wheeler: - I know that you've cleaned up your diet and just started training again, but don't forget about "muscle memory". You can very well be putting on muscle and losing fat. It's amazing how quickly the body will respond when you put it all together. Kelsey Graham: - What were the two of you (Jon Graham) indulging in at lunch at that very moment you were both entering the challenge?
Jake Metcalfe: Jake, you are a certified fitness trainer, but I'm with you... I know how difficult it can be when you are keeping those long hours helping others with their goals at the fitness center you provide PT at in Columbus. You have to allow that time for yourself otherwise you will lose your conditioning. (Know I'm telling myself what I need to hear).
Jaime Nesbit: - If you are still working just a few doors down, you have no excuses, Let's GO girl!
Nancy Weiss: We love having you at the club. You make it a point to show up and workout while some others may be slacking.
Hazel Peterson: - Hazel, a holiday outing in New York City with the girls would add 10 or more pounds to most ladies. Way to keep it under control. I'm certain you still had a bunch of fun! Carolann Humberston: - I will echo what everyone else would say when they find out that you entered this challenge, "What in the world were you thinking? Go eat a Klondike bar!"
Sarah Burns: - Sarah, Ive been doing this for over 30 years and I can spot someone with great potential for athletic ability the second they step out of the car in the gym parking lot. Keep at it, don't quit... because you have great potential if that is what you desire.
Ami Frost: - Your energy and dancing in the gym with your headset on is enough to keep everyone happy and motivated. Where you at, we need you! Bring Adam P. with you...I don't see enough of him either. Tell Jay over at Ohio Rental to give him some time off so he can catch a workout.
Bill Barbour: Showed but didn't weigh-in. What the heck is Bill going to do with an iPad anyway? I don't even think Bill has an email address. Bill, You're already in great shape from all that golfing, you own Irish Hills Golf Course, you're tall, dark, and handsome ( uhh...that's what Hazel says...not me, I'm a dude, dude!) Give these younger guys and gals a chance, will ya? Amy Carpenter: No Show, schedule conflict with work and class. I hope you got that wisdom tooth fixed.
Keith Mallett: No show...says he didn't open email until too late. Also stated in own his words that; "I don't think that it will give me much of an advantage I just ate a candy bar and a pizza!
Dennis Sapp: No show... Out sick...get well soon! I promise to get a picture of you with "Eye's wide shut...uh, I me OPEN"
Brookelynn Sunkle: No show... Out sick... get well soon! Janell Wells: No show... stick with it, Janell!
Carly Wolff: No show... Carly, where are you at?
Mick Workman: No show, I know you are taking care of Brookelynn. You mentioned the situation when you dropped into the gym to pick up the container of protein. Hope she gets well fast. P.S. I cherish the good ol' days at Hawk's Gym, my friend.
Okay....WHAT IS WITH ALL THE NO SHOWS? Booooo!
Sick and a schedule conflict I understand, but the rest...Boooooo!
Jim Goins: No Show
Brandon Irving: No show
Hoyt Lewis: No show Seth Pay: No show
